Baseball players know what you think of them. They’re overpaid. They’re spoiled. Everything’s been handed to them. If you’ve lived the life, however, you already know perception does not match reality. At least not in the minor leagues. Not even close. If you’ve been around minor league baseball long enough, you know that the glamour of “The Show” feels much further away than a phone call or a few rungs on the baseball ladder. The long, uncomfortable bus rides, the picked-over food spreads, the cramped locker rooms, the tiny hotels. None of it screams big leagues.
