I must not be the big baseball fan I thought I was...The last three or four guys the Mets have signed, I have never heard of. I don't understand stocking up on released players who don't really have a good minor league track record. I don't consider that a knock on these players either, I just can't see the logic. Can't the Mets fill their triple A team with their own players? Seems the Mets signed the two semi big relief pitchers, traded for the other relief pitcher, and now they're done. I thought, accounting for arbitration raises and contract salaries, they still had about five million to spend. Guess they're saving it for the draft. Or, more likely, they're just not spending what they don't have. Bud Selig, knock knock, is anybody home? Washington is looking at Prince and the Mets are signing players for triple A. Bud, get your head out of your ass, after you remove Fred from it, and save this team. Its taken awhile, but I'm really starting to get aggravated over this bullshit.

@Charles Im sure no one actually anticipated the Mets even making 1 big splash this offseason. Be happy that we even got the guys to replace our atrocious bullpen. Alderson is just looking through the scrap heap to see if he can find 2012's "Where Did He Come From?" Guy (Dickey- 2010, Turner- 2011) during spring training workouts.

Christopher:

You are correct.

All the teams pick up various no names that have failed somewhere else, in hopes of striking it rich.

It happens one of ten times.

i.e. - R.A. Dickey

chris & mack: I understand all of that. In the past, the mets have gotten Jose Valentin, Fernando Tatis, Julio Franco, Jorge Soas, and countless others that way. My point is that they used to try to strike it rich with players who had a once good major league career. Now, its become about two steps below that. And, I like having a much.better bullpen than last year, but I sure don't think we should feel "happy" that they were even able to afford that.

Charles:

I totally understand your concern.

I don't know who these guys are either, but I don't think any of them will stick other than possibly fill a AAAA slot at the minimum cost to the team.

I think this is the best it's going to get this year.
