Jacksonville 8, Binghamton 3





JUPITER, FL – The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, scored eight unanswered runs and defeated the B-Mets in comeback fashion today by an 8-3 score. 




 Binghamton owned a three-run lead through five and a half innings before watching the Suns put up three runs in the sixth, three more in the seventh and two in the eighth. TheB-Mets were out-hit by an 11-7 tally. Left-hander Darin Gorski made the start for the Double-A Mets and tossed two shutout frames. The Lancaster, PA native gave up one hit, walked one, and struck out two. Gorski spent last season with the St. Lucie Mets (High-A) and was named the Florida StateLeague Pitcher of the Year after going 11-3 with a 2.08 ERA in 21 starts. 







Outfielder Cory Vaughn was a key member of the offensive attack for the second-straight game. The Mets fourth-round pick in 2010 went 3-for-3, finishing a home run shy of the cycle.








Jeff Kaplan struggled in his first appearance of the spring. The righty allowed three runs on four hits in one inning on the mound.


 The B-Mets enjoy an offday tomorrow before hosting the Suns on Tuesday for a 1 PM game.
