Weekend Minors Report

The Mets signed free agent infielder Oswaldo Navarro. Navarro last played at the ML level in '10 w/ the Astros. In 2011, he hit .267/.348/.333 for Houston's 3A affiliate, Oklahoma City.

We know that the roster names on Milb.com at this point in ST tend to be wrong, but it is worth noting that the following names were added yesterday when the “cuts” came down: Pitchers Robert Carson, Jeurys Familia, Jenrry Mejia, Mark Cohoon, Jack Egbert, Daniel Herrera, Dylan Owen, Elvin Ramirez, and Josh Stinson. Also, Reese Havens, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Zach Lutz

Prospect C Miquel Leaf checked in to say that he is returning to the DSL for another season in 2012. Leaf batted .275 last year for the DSL1 team and is obviously a victim of the loss of the GCL team.

Buffalo – Mark Cohoon was the starter on Saturday (Buffalo 1, Memphis 1, suspended after 10 innings). Excellent pitching by both Mark Cohoon and Dylan Owen. Home run by Wilmer Flores.

Binghamton – Saturday - Zack Wheeler was the starter. 1st inning - sitting 96-97, 91 slider, 89 change.. for the day: 3 IP, 1 R - unearned, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP ... 52 p, 33 Ks ... 96-97, 88-91 slider, 83-86 change...  back-to-back home run by Cory Vaughn and Travis Ozga.

St. Lucie – Angel Cuan was the starter on Saturday.

Savannah – Domingo Tapia was the starter on Saturday.
