Daily Minors Report - 4-19-12

AAA-Buffalo:

.259 team batting average (6th), .758 OPS (3rd), .416 slugging (3rd), 15-HR (3rd)…  3B Zach Lutz went into this game hitting .393 on the home stand…  Chris Young has thrown batting practice twice… Jordany Valdespin (3-hits, HR) returned to CF for this game…  today made 11 games in-a-row that 2B Bobby Scales has gotten on base twice… LHRP Chuck James through 0.2 scoreless innings, his 6th outing (0.00) of the year… Val Pascucchi hit his 5th home run… RP Jack Egbert hadn’t given up an earned run all season, but yielded two (+ three more unearned) in the 8th inning… three more errors… Yankees signed ex-Bisons RHP Nelson Figueroa

AA-Binghamton:

.229 team batting average (last), .693 OPS (6th), .365 slugging (7th), 54-BB (2nd)… as of this morning, SP Zack Wheeler stacks up:  52-K, 42.0-IP, 10-BB, 38-H, and 0-HR…  SS Sean Kazmar sits with an oblique injury…  3B Jefry Marte (.360) returns to the lineup… Eric Campbell singled home CF Matt Den Dekker for a 1-0 lead… up to that run, the B-Mets were scoreless in 15 innings… “Soup” sac-flied the third run… Darin Gorski continues the dream: 6.0-IP, 1-H, 2-BB, 1-HBP… simply amazing. Nobody online gives me any credit for alerting all of you to Josh Edgin; however, I hope you remember me saying that the long shot to finish this year as the Queens closer is Elvin Ramirez… now 14-K in 7.1-IP, 0.00.

A+ - St. Lucie:

.242 team batting average (6th), .698 OPS (3rd), .369 slugging (3rd), 30 doubles (1st)… OF Cory Vaughn was activated before the game, ending his three day mysterious shelf placement. Getting info out of Lucy is like North Korea. I know that Cory suffers from diabetes-one… hope things are okay…  Chase Huchingson with another five scoreless innings… 3-ST, 17.2-IP, 0.00… crazy…  long, drawn out, rain delayed game...

A – Savannah:

.238 team batting average (9th), .696 OPS (8th), .357 slugging (10th), 72-BB (1st)… Alex Panteliodis finally gave up a run (1st inning) but came after a T.J. Rivera throwing error… same long, drawn out wet things as Lucy...

nSo upset with how they played as a team. Yes. Alex got one run...inevitable. But all of those errors just made themselves and Alex look so bad.

Nah...

people that know baseball understand that... that's why most of the runs aren't "earned"

My understanding is Cory Vaughn was given 3 days to observe a family funeral and not injury related.

I was concerned that it may have been diabetes related, but not the case.
