Remember that guy? the forgotten mets A-Z

Kevin Appier--
One of the better starting pitchers of the 1990's. Signed with the Mets in 2001, and had a decent year going 11-10 3.87. In a desperate bid to save his job, Steve Phillips traded him the following year to the Angels for Mo Vaughn and a 6 foot sub. Mo ate the sub, and Phillips went on to annoy people on a more national level at ESPN.
Honerable mention--Benny Agbayani

Brett Butler--
This guy was the definition of scrappy..I can remember watching this guy with the dodgers in the early 90's, it seemed like he bunted for a hit twice a game.  He signed with the Mets in 1995, but by then he wasn't the same.  The Mets traded him right back to the dodgers in August of that year.  He retired in 1997 quietly collecting 2000 hits and 550 steals.
Honerable mention--Rico Brogna

For the letter A, who could forget the man who homered in his first big league AB -- Benny Ayala?

For the B's, what about the man who manned the outfield in the late '70s and hit back to back seasons of .287 and .239 -- Bruce Boisclair?

December 1990: wanted the Mets to sign a CF and a Cardinal (FA's Butler & Pendleton). They signed a CF and a Cardinal: Vince Coleman.

Doh! moment.
