Rochester 5, Buffalo 3

Brian Dinkelman's three-run home run in the sixth inning turned the tables on the Bisons and gave Rochester a 5-3 victory on Tuesday afternoon from Frontier Field. The second consecutive loss dropped Buffalo's record to 3-3 on their season-opening roadtrip.

The Bisons will now return to Coca-Cola Field for Wednesday's Home Opener against the Yankees (2:05 p.m.).

For the second time in as many games, the Red Wings used the longball to bounce the Bisons. Brian Dozier hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning of Monday's game to erase a 2-1 Herd advantage.

On Tuesday, Buffalo took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. Rochester put a couple runners on base without the benefit of a hit as Matt Carson reached on a Zach Lutz throwing error and Ray Chang drew a two-out walk. Dinkelman followed with the three-run blast to right field off Jeff Stevens (0-1) for the game-winning hit.

The Bisons did their own share of two-out damage early in the game. Valentino Pascucci put the Herd up 2-0 in the first inning with a gigantic home run to centerfield that hit halfway up Frontier Field's batter's eye. Omar Quintanilla's double off the glove of centerfield Joe Benson added another run in the second inning.

Matt Harvey started for the Bisons and allowed two runs on seven hits in five innings of work. The 23-yaer old struck out four for the second consecutive start.

BISONS NOTES:All six games on the Bisons season-opening roadtrip were decided by two runs or less...Valentino Pascucci's home run was his 3rd on the year and 41st as a Bison. He is now tied with Buffalo Baseball hall of Famer Dave Clark for 11th most in the modern era...Buffalo went 0-7 with runners in scoring position.
