POSTPONEMENT: Last night’s postponement was Binghamton’s fifth of the season and third in the last two weeks. They will play their first doubleheader of the season today.

LAST GAME: The B-Mets were one out away from securing their first road series sweep of the season, but Shane Brown ripped a two-run single in the bottom of the tenth to give the Trenton Thunder a 3-2 walk-off victory Sunday afternoon at Waterfront Park. The B-Mets had taken a one-run lead in the top of the tenth on a throwing error by Jose Pirela and looked to Adrian Rosario to lock down the save. The righty got two quick outs before allowing a single, issuing a walk and uncorking a wild pitch. Brown ripped a 2-0 pitch into left to give Trenton the walk-off win. Lee Hyde allowed one unearned run over two innings to earn the win. Rosario suffered his first loss and blown save as a B-Met. Binghamton plated their first run when Matt den Dekker scored on a wild pitch by starter Brett Marshall in the fourth inning.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP, GAME 1: LHP Mark Cohoon (3-5, 3.92) makes his eleventh start of the season and first against the Reading Phillies. Cohoon took the no-decision in his last start versus the Harrisburg Senators on June 5. The lefty allowed five runs on seven hits over six innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out five. A 12th-round pick in the June 2008 draft by the Mets, the southpaw is in his fifth season of pro baseball. It’s his third year with the B-Mets.

RHP Jonathan Pettibone (5-5, 3.79) makes his 13th start of the season and second against the B-Mets. The California native earned the win in his previous start against the Altoona Curve on June 6. He allowed two runs and scattered seven hits over seven innings. The righty struck out three and did not issue a walk for the third time this season. Pettibone was tagged for eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits over six innings in a loss versus the B-Mets on May 31.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP, GAME 2: RHP Collin McHugh (5-4, 2.48) makes his 12th start of the season and first against the R-Phils. McHugh suffered a loss in his previous start against the Harrisburg Senators on June 6. He allowed a season-high four runs on six hits and struck out five over 6.2 innings. In 27 starts as a B-Met, McHugh has gone 13-6 with a 2.72 ERA.

RHP Jordan Whatcott (1-0, 2.01) takes the mound for the spot start in the night cap. The righty began the year in the Clearwater Threshers (High-A) bullpen and did not allow a run in 12.0 innings of work over six relief outings. He was promoted in late April and has made 14 relief appearances for the R-Phils. Selected in the 31st round of the 2009 draft out of the University of Utah, Whatcott is in his third pro season. Tonight is his first professional start.
