LAST GAME: The B-Mets and Akron Aeros made it to the top of the sixth inning before enduring their second suspension in as many days yesterday at NYSEG Stadium. The teams were attempting to complete a game that was suspended in the fourth inning on Sunday. The contest will be finished in Akron, Ohio on June 19. Monday’s regularly scheduled game will also be made up during the series in Akron. The B-Mets held a 2-1 when the game was restarted, but watched as the Aeros tied it in the top of the fifth. Matt Lawson stole third with one out and scored when catcher Kai Gronauer’s throw skipped past Jefry Marte and rolled into left field. The B-Mets failed to score against Akron reliever Toru Murata over two innings.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mark Cohoon (3-5, 3.52) makes his tenth start of the season and second against the Aeros. The southpaw earned his only win in the month of May in his previous start against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on May 27. He allowed one run on five hits and struck out two over seven innings. With his start tonight, Cohoon surpasses his total number of B-Mets starts from last year (9). His career-high with Binghamton is 13, set in 2010.

RHP Paul Demny (4-3, 4.55) makes his team-leading twelfth start of the season and first against the B-Mets. The righty from Texas is a fresh off a loss to the Portland Sea Dogs on May 31. He matched a career-high by allowing twelve hits. He struck out three and allowed five runs in a game the Senators would lose 7-2. Demny was selected in the 6th round of the 2008 draft by the Nationals out of Blinn College (JC) in Brenham, Texas. The righty has made at least 23 starts in each of his last three pro seasons, going 10-10 with a 4.32 ERA in 26 starts with the Potomac Nationals (High-A) last year.
