MMLR Player of the Day: 51’s LF Matt den Dekker

 

Las Vegas (3-1) edges Sacramento (2-3) with a run in the 9th 6-5


Matt den Dekker was the hero, plating the winning run with walk off single with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th after Cesar Puello had walked and stole second.

Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched like a #5 starter, giving his team the chance to win when he left the game after 5.0 innings: 3 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 4 K.
Following Dice-K, Dana Eveland earned a hold despite allowing 2 R, 4 H, 4 K in his 2.0 innings
Joel Carreno allowed the tying run in the 8th: 1.0 IP, R, 2 H, BB, 2 K.
Josh Edgin righted himself for a hitless 9th , and got the decision due to another walkoff win by the 51‘s: W 1-0, 1.0 IP, BB

Bobby Abreu, DH‘ing for the 51‘s, continues to hit: 2-4, 2 2B, R.
Zach Lutz: 1-1, 3 BB, 3
Allan Dykstra: 1-2, 2 BB, RBI, R
Juan Centeno: 1-3, 2 BB, 3 RBI.
Cesar Puello: 2-4, 2B, BB, RBI, R.

Despite a 12.0 ERA by their bull pen, after 5 games, the 51’s find themselves at 4-1.
