St. Lucie 13 - Jupiter 3

The St. Lucie Mets clobbered the Jupiter Hammerheads 13-3 at Roger Dean Stadiumon Thursday night.

The Mets pounded out a season high 20 hits and everyone in the lineup hit safely. The Mets were led at the plate by Jairo Perez, who went 5 for 6 with two doubles and three runs scored. T.J. Rivera was just as good, going 4 for 6 with five RBIs.

St. Lucie took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Rivera tagged Jupiter started Josh Hodges for a two-out, two-run single.

The Mets broke it open with six runs on eight hits in the second. Five of the eight hits were for extra bases. The team hit for the cycle in the frame. Brandon Nimmo cranked a two-run homer, Dilson Herrera legged out a triple and Perez, Maikis De La Cruz and Eudy Pina hammered doubles. Rivera, Cam Maron and Albert Cordero all singled.

All the damage was done against Hodges.

St. Lucie continued to pour it on by making it 13-1 in the eighth on an RBI double by Aderlin Rodriguez.

While the Mets crushed the Hammerheads at the plate, starter Gabriel Ynoa cruised in his second start. The righty gave up just four hits and one run in six strong innings. At one point he struck out five of six hitters, including the side in the fourth.

Jake Kuebler pitched the final three innings to qualify for the save. He struck out two and gave up two unearned runs.

Joining Perez and Rivera with multi hit games were Herrera, Nimmo, Rodriguez and Cordero.
