MMLR Players of the Day: Savannah LHSP Dario Alvarez and Binghamton RHSP Hansel Robles.

 

Game 1: Albuqueque (41-48) anihilates Las Vegas (51- 38) 11-3.

Greg Peavey (L, 1-4) may not have had his best stuff today: 5.0 IP, 11 R, 14 H, (3 HR) 3 BB, 7 K.
Erik Goeddel: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB.

Steven Matz was great in a complete game, but was done in by a defensive lapse: 7.0 IP, 2 R, 0 ER, 4 H, BB.

Darrell Ceciliani (1-3) garnered the B-Mets only hit.

 

 

Game 2: Binghamton (51-36) blanks Erie (38 - 48) 4-0 to gain a split.

Chase Hutchingson: 1.0 IP, 0 R, H, BB, K.

Brandon Nimmo: 1-2, 2 BB, 2 R, SB. (Despite not yet untracked at the plate in Binghamton, Nimmo nonetheless just keeps getting on base.)

Another gem for Dario Alvarez: (W, 6-0) 5.1 IP, R, 0 ER, 3 H, BB, 8 K. (In his 6 starts this season, all wins, Alvarez’s ERA is a miniscule 0.34.)

Hunter Carnivale: 0.1 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 0 BB. Hunter faltered.
But he was picked up by Paul Paez: 0.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB.
And, of course, there was the Amazing Akeel Morris, (S, 8) pitching a perfect 9th inning, striking out the side. (Morris’s ERA is down to 0.90)

Wow! Some great pitching performances (some tough ones too). Hey, after the great ones, let's promote Dario, Matz, and Akeel straight to majors. Kidding, but when Dario and Akeel so utterly dominate in Savannah the way they do, you start to wonder, at what level might they struggle?

Matz 2nd great AA start. Great to see.
Getting closer by the start.

And Flores (2 more homers and 5 RBIs)...I'd rather see that at SS than the current occupant in Flushing. And Oberste is bursting out with 2 more hits (20 for last 41, I think).
