Mets Minor League Report: July 9, 2014

MMLR Player of the Day: Binghamton RHSP Gabriel Ynoa.

Reno (51-43) slaughters Las Vegas (54- 40) 5-4.
Darin Gorski (L, 2-3) had an off night, to put it mildly: 2.1 IP, 8 R, 7 ER, 8 H, (2 HR) 2 BB, 2 K.
Erik Goeddel and Chase Bradford were also rocked in their innings, while Miguel Socolovich and Zack Thornton escaped relatively unscathed.
Omar Quintanilla, who pitched a perfect inning a couple of nights ago, was given another opportunity tonight. Unfortunately, he wasn’t as lucky (or skillful) tonight, and was touched up for 2 runs on 3 hits in his 1 inning.

Not that it mattered, but offensive standouts were:
Danny Muno: 2-5, R.
Cesar Puello: 2-3, 2B, BB, R.

Gabriel Ynoa (W, 1-0) was superb in his 2nd AA game, a complete game shutout: 7.0 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 K.

All the offense the B-Mets needed, was supplied by Rylan Sandoval, (1-2) with an RBI single plating T.J. Rivera.

Great game for Ynoa and good to see Montero and Mateo pitch well. Perhaps the first two are trade bait in the coming weeks for a Castro. The Lawley homer spree continues - cool.

I've been high on Ynoa for a long time....Pretty sure Macks Mets is the only site that has him as a Top 10 prospect.
