Let's hear it for Vicente Lupo
...he keeps this up and in a
few years, he'll be in Citi with
A new Bensonhurt nickname - Vinnie
The Loop. Maybe his struggles
Since tearing up DSL are being left
In the rear view mirror.

Great pitching from Wheeler and Morris in relief,
and Arias and Acosta. Matt Reynolds
Keeps operating the hit machine,
And Jayce Boyd continues a strong
2nd half with 3 hits. And so on.
Good stuff.

One guy of interest too is Christian Montgomery, who has shown signs of improvement lately and tossed an excellent long relief outing last nite. He Ks a lot of guys, so he is an interesting guy to watch.

The Farm had lacked Bop for the longest time, so even though it is low level, it would be nice to see if Lupo and Becerra can continue to develop. Too bad they are a few years and a few levels away with plenty if time to fade

I just noted Travis Taijeron as a bopper in another post. Dekker struck out too much, but over the past several weeks, with his stance change, he cut his K's dramatically (and hit like crazy).

Travis has about 180 extra base hits in less than 1300 minor league at bats. Fix his K problem and we could have a home-grown Nelson Cruz. Get Dekker's hitting coach to work with Travis?

Doesn't den Dekker's new batting stance look like Ike's when he came back from Vegas last year? That must be what Wally & crew are teaching in Vegas to lower their hands to be quicker through the zone. Whatever works and it appears to be working for MDD, clearly Ike's a lost cause.
