2013 Draft-Notes – Kendall Rogers Stuff, John Rhodes, Jonah Wesely, Other Stuff

Florida A&M President Resigns in Wake of Hazing Scandal…

Todd Gold‏ - 2013 RHP Kyle Serrano (Farragut HS, TN) sat 88-89, touched 90 when felt like it. Long loose arm, easy velo, good secondary stuff

Andrew Hartwell‏ - After seeing all my stitches, my kids called me Frankenstein.

Kendall Rogers‏ - Illinois 2013 commit, SS/P Ryne Roper intriguing to watch. Has been good at plate at WWBA, but up to 88 in solid relief today… Fellow commit, C Brad Logan, w/ good nightcap. Another talent… Just spoke to someone about OK State LHP Andrew Heaney, Marlins 1st-rdr. Confirmed indeed Miami ceased negotiations. For those saying Marlins could sign last second, Heaney has yet to have a physical. Would need one by midday tomorrow… Alabama 2013 commit Hunter Webb, Clemson 2013 commit Austin Meadows, both with two hits to keep Team Elite 17UB alive in PG Tourney… Arkansas 2013 commit, P Dom Taccolini, helped Columbia Angels get to WWBA17U Semis. Six K's, 1 R in 6 IP. Sat 89-91 FB, 75-77 CV PG Tourney…

What ever happened to John Rhodes?... The young Nebraska farm boy with blazing left-handed speed. Dude was bringing heat for Pittsburg

Congrats Jonah Wesely on your selection to the #AllAmericanClassic See you in San Diego.

Mark Appel, Stanford RHP who was the 8th pick in the recent MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates turned down a $3.5 million signing bonus and will return to Stanford for his Senior year of college

Mack – this changes everything in my projected 2013 draft. Appel immediately becomes the number one pick in the draft and everyone else would fall down a slot.

Frankie Piliere‏ - Barrett Astin at 90-92 tonight, showing feel for CB/CH. Kevin Ziomek pretty nasty from left side, 90-93, big breaking ball and quality CH

Peter Gammons - Mike Yastrzemski turned down $300,000 from the Mariners to return and get his Vanderbilt degree

Like Mark Appel, this immediately changes all the mock drafts.  Also, Vandy will field TJ Pecoraro, Kevin Ziomek, Conrad Grego, and Mike… not a bad start for a championship team.
