I May Be Wrong, But… Jesse Jackson, Harvey, Gee, Andrew Hartwell, the Rolling Stones

1.     Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. Treated for ‘Mood Disorder’… welcome to the jungle…

    2.     Jesus, is there any room for anybody on the Harvey train?

    3.     From Shawn Thompson - Mack, If Gee is out for the rest of the year (which seems likely), what's your game plan?   Not sure how you feel about Harvey coming up now - there has to be some bootleg 4th/5th starter making a bit too much at the trade deadline, right??  Do you throw Familia to the wolves and let him shit/shine to make the 2013 bullpen decision easier?

Yeah, Stephen convinced me on the comment side of this blog that’s it is okay to speculate. I can tell you one thing…  I know Dillon is a married adult and all that, but there is no way his father (who I know) is going to risk his son’s career, and life, by rushing back for what is less than three months of baseball. It’s not going to happen.

Rotation wise, the 4-man is set, and Matt Harvey lines up almost perfectly with the date Gee would have pitched his next outing.

The fan in me wants to see Harvey in Queens (thank God his first couple of outings could be away games).

Me? I would go with the guy that pitched 16-11, 4.24, 193.0-IP, 133-K, 85-BB, 32-starts…

In 2007.

I would also activate Jeremy Hefner and create a season-long piggy back designed to get me 7 innings between the two of them. Call the player Jeremy Batista, or Miguel Hefner. If one starts off bad, get him out of there and bring in the other. Hell, start warming up the other guy in the first inning. Let them both walk out to the mound together and have one hand the ball to the other.

I would also move Zack Wheeler up to Buffalo and let him, Matt, and Jeurys Familia go 1-2-3 until September 1st.

We can revisit this in two weeks if the two-headed monster doesn’t pan out.

4.     My thoughts and prayer go out to Andrew Hartwell of Summer Ball who had some extensive surgery yesterday for facial skin cancel. Let’s all visit the site and wish him well:  http://www.collegesummerbaseball.net/

5.     Did you ever reach someone online and ask them to give you their phone number and they email back to give them your number and they will call you? That gives them the opportunity to block their phone number so you can’t reach them in the future. What a strange world we live in now.

6.     50 years ago today, the Rolling Stones played their first concert. My best friend then was Louis Sarasy. We were “beatle guys” and would stand in the middle of Louis’ brother’s bedroom where there was a light and a pull cord. We made believe that the pull cord was a hanging microphone and we’d sing two-part harmony. I was Paul (or was I John), and the Stones were the bad guys. Ironically, Louis and I still talk once a week. 50 years… now we're all “standing in the shadows”.

7.     Hunter B. added us on Google+… 5 new comments, including one from Jordany Valdespin… 2,327 page views on Mack’s Mets yesterday… lost a follower on Twitter (#JohnMackinAde)… down to 57…
