Savannah Bears Delmarva... Doesn't Everyone?

The Delmarva Shorebirds (5-14) scored first in the second inning, but the Savannah Sand Gnats (8-12) scored five unanswered runs to top the Shorebirds 5-3 on Wednesday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Shorebirds did not score between the third and eighth innings.
In the second inning, the Shorebirds mounted a two out rally. Tommy Winegardner reached on a walk. After reaching second base on a passed ball, Winegardner scored on a base hit to left field by Orioles left fielder Endy Chavez, who is a on a three-day minor league rehab assignment with the Shorebirds. Then, Glynn Davis singled to score Chavez.
The Sand Gnats tied the game in the third on a two-run homer by Xorge Carrillo to left field.
In the fourth inning, Savannah took their first lead. Brian Harrison hit a lead off single and stole second. Two batters later, he scored on a single to shallow right by Carrillo. Later, Matt Reynolds hit a flare into shallow left-center field to give the Sand Gnats a 4-2 lead.
The Sand Gnats added to their lead in the sixth inning on a double by Dustin Lawley to score Aderlin Rodriguez.
The Shorebirds added a late run in the ninth inning. Nicky Delmonico smacked a lead off double to the wall in right field. He scored on a sharp single into left field by Sammie Starr. Pinch hitter Michael Ohlman grounded out to end the game.
Shorebirds starter Eduardo Rodriguez took the loss over five innings. He allowed six hits and four runs.
Zach Fowler entered in the sixth inning and allowed just one hit over three innings. Fowler fanned two without issuing a walk. Gene Escat tossed a scoreless ninth inning.
